Reading Partners SC Virtual Community Read with Jeffery Blount

2.png

Reading Partners South Carolina invites you to join us for a community book discussion and conversation about educational equity with author and Reading Partners board member Jeffrey Blount. The event will include remarks from Jeffrey, a moderated conversation around educational equity, and a Q&A where attendees are invited to submit questions. This online event will take place on Thursday, April 22, from 5:30-6:15pm EST.

Jeffrey Blount is an accomplished author, Emmy award-winning director, and inspiring speaker. His latest novel, The Emancipation of Evan Walls, explores the complexities of being "young, gifted, and Black" in America. The book mirrors elements of Jeffrey's own lived experience and inspired pieces of Evan Wall's fictional story, with strong parallels to the students Reading Partners serve each week.

You can purchase a copy of Jeffrey’s book from our bookstore  Buxton Books. This event is free and open to the public.

Registered attendees will receive the event link and form to submit questions prior to the event.
