Join us for a night of live music with Colin Cutler!

  • Buxton Books 160 King Street Charleston, SC, 29401 United States (map)

Buxton Books is delighted to welcome musician Colin Cutler to the bookstore for an evening of live music. Cutler will be playing songs from his upcoming album, Tarwater, all of which were inspired by the stories of literary icon, Flannery O’Connor. This will be a free, in-store event.

ABOUT THE MUSICIAN:

Colin Cutler is a Greensboro-based singer-songwriter and poet toting a banjo, guitar, and harmonicas. His music stretches across Americana from banjo-driven oldtime to blues to roots rock, and draws inspiration from life--and literature, from medieval ballads to Dante to Flannery O'Connor. He is currently on a tour to promote this year's project, a full album of songs from the heads of O'Connor's vivid characters. This is an expansion of the Peacock Feathers EP--with help from an ArtsGreensboro grant, Tarwater should be out later this year.

Colin Cutler's previous three albums have gotten play on BBC Introducing, public and community radio in NC and VA, and mentions in No Depression, Americana Highways, and The Alternate Root, and have taken him from cutting his teeth at farmer's markets and on the brewery circuit to performing at the NC Folk Festival and the Romanian National Museum of Literature.

For more information on Cutler or to listen to a sample of his music, you can find him at his website here.
