A Book Launch with Alice McDermott: Presented by Buxton Books!

Buxton Books is thrilled to be hosting the great Alice McDermott the week of her new book launch!

On Monday evening, October 30, be among the first to hear Alice McDermott read from and discuss one of the most highly anticipated novels for Fall 2023: Absolution.

Following an introduction by Josephine Humphreys, Alice McDermott will read from Absolution and be in conversation with our very own Polly Buxton.

All of this will take place in the beautiful Unitarian Church! Doors open at 5:30 pm with the program beginning at 6:00 pm on Monday, October 30.

About Alice McDermott:

That Night, At Weddings and Wakes, and After This were all finalists for the Pulitzer Prize. Her stories and essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New Yorker, Harper’s Magazine, and elsewhere. For more than two decades she was the Richard A. Macksey Professor of the Humanities at Johns Hopkins University and a member of the faculty at the Sewanee Writers Conference. McDermott lives with her family outside Washington, D.C.
