About Daniel Silva:

Daniel Silva was born in Michigan in 1960 and raised in California where he received his BA from Fresno State. Silva began his writing career as a journalist for United Press International (UPI), traveling in the Middle East and covering the Iran-Iraq war, terrorism and political conflicts. From UPI he moved to CNN, where he eventually became executive producer of its Washington-based public policy programming. In 1994 he began work on his first novel, The Unlikely Spy, a surprise best seller that won critical acclaim. He turned to writing full time in 1997 and all of his books have been New York Times/national best sellers, translated into 25 languages and published across Europe and the world. He lives in Washington, D.C.

About Jamie Gangel:

Jamie Gangel, an award-winning veteran correspondent, joined CNN in August 2015. Gangel reports for the network’s digital and television platforms, and regularly appears on CNN’s AC360, The Lead with Jake Tapper and The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. Gangel has become well known for her long-format features and interviews, profiling everyone from presidents and celebrities to ordinary people with extraordinary stories. Among her many exclusives, Gangel has profiled presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama, as well as dozens of prominent newsmakers including Vice President Dick Cheney, first lady Laura Bush, first lady Barbara Bush, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Governor Jeb Bush, Governor Chris Christie and Donald Trump. Her many honors and awards include Emmy, Edward R. Murrow, Clarion, AP and Gracie awards. Gangel was born and raised in New York City where she attended The Dalton School. She graduated from the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in 1977. In 1976, she also attended Harvard University, where she studied international economics.
